Went here on a whim with a mate and was greeted by Dominique (really hope I spelt that right) and Alan. They talked us through the cocktail list and how they made and prepared the ingredients which was amazing. These guys know what they're doing, they really took care of us and the drinks were spot on! So much thought and care has gone into their list and we arrived just before their new menus launched so we will be back to try that! Thank you for a great evening :)
We hired The Den (downstairs at the Crying Wolf) for a 30th birthday party. Alan was an absolute brilliant help from start to finish - I’d emailed him with many questions ahead of the event and some plans to keep the event a surprise on the day, he was always responsive and nothing was too much trouble. I was supported to personalise the space in the way that I wanted for the event, for example putting certain drinks on my bills and having banners up. All the guests were really impressed with the space and stated that the cocktails were lovely (especially Sea Breeze). We had a few different bar staff helping through the night, but they were fab too - they almost felt like part of our party at points with how hospitable they were! They helped clear up some decorations we’d put out at the end, which I wasn’t expecting and was so helpful (especially when we’d all had a few drinks). I really could not fault the venue and it was a special night to remember for everyone in attendance - big thanks to Alan and the staff on the night who were amazing.
You can't judge a book by it's cover... But you CAN judge a cocktail bar by the quality of its old fashioned and I was impressed. Beautiful rounded open flavours and perfectly balanced. The service was great. When my friend didn't like her choice the staff were very kind and switched it out and the decor had various cool conversation pieces from the twisting vinelike railings to the imposing sculpted eagle. A definite highlight.
