A wonderful old pub in the centre of Bristol with a huge seating area next to the water. Great for drinks after work. Lots of people passing through on their way home or onto a night out. Great views of Bristol’s harbourside and lots of options for food. A Bristol institution!

This place has a great location. The service was fine. The food was not edible. We got the Sunday roast on father day. This was my first Sunday roast in England so I was very excited. It looked pretty good except my Yorkshire pudding was smashed. Then I started eating. It was luke warm at best. My parsnip were over cooked and tough. The meat was so chewy I could not swallow a bite and had to spit it out and gave it to my dog. My Yorkshire pudding - which I have had before. It was like rubber. Not crisp and light. The carrots were mushy. The potatoes were also over cooked. Everything was pre cooked and all the wrong textures and temperatures. The kale was good. The side of coleslaw we got,was warm- the one thing that was meant to be cold. I didn’t get a chance to tell the waitress because she only came around after I had fed all my meat to my dog this was at the end of the meal and very brief since - we had all ready prepayed because we were on the patio. I hate giving bad reviews but it was bad. For a Father’s Day meal it was super disappointing. My sister lives in England and she agreed although she’ll eat anything lol . I’d go back to have drinks but definitely not to eat.

Best place in Portishead for breakfast or lunch! Wendy is so friendly and welcoming, and the food is absolutely incredible. Everything tastes fresh, high quality, and beautifully prepared. I’d highly recommend this food van/airstream to family and friends, and I’ll definitely be coming back again soon!

Characterful pub nicely tucked away, accessible by foot along cobbled canalside paths. Enjoying lunch here in Bristol, the 'home' of Butcombe Brewing Co. and their delicious beers. When you find The Ostrich you're greeted with very personable bar staff, a fabulous selection of drinks, housed in clean, tasteful surroundings. The food is great, and the curry sauce that comes with the delicious fish and chips (served with mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce) hits just right. It's a cosy refuge in the winter and cooler months, but (apparently) gets very busy in the summer and sunny days due to its extensive outdoor seating overlooking the Bathurst Basin.
