Really good lunch at Tomo no Ramen. We were immediately welcomed and shown to our table. Service throughout was good and everyone was always pleasant, although we did have to call someone over when we were ready to order and our starter and mains arrived together. It would have been nicer to enjoy the starter first without worrying about the ramen going cold, but that’s a fairly small nitpick. The food itself was excellent. The ramen isn’t necessarily the most traditional you’ll find, but it’s still very good, with generous portions. I would have appreciated a full egg rather than half and perhaps a few more bits of veg, but that’s about all I could fault. The karaage chicken is especially good, and the katsu sauce it comes with is incredible. It’s probably one of my partner’s favourite things to eat in Bristol. Nice atmosphere as well, with decent music, a good buzz and everything clean and well looked after. It’s slightly on the expensive side for ramen, but pretty typical Bristol prices and the food is very tasty, so we were happy to pay it.
Great ramen! A good choice of well-made ramen bowls, plus lovely side dishes and kimchi too. Really rich, flavourful broth, great noodles and lovely option of meats and veg too. Drinks are a range of saki, cocktails, Asahi (of course) and local beer courtesy of Wiper and True (whose tap room is a stone's throw from the restaurant. We went on a Friday night and the place was buzzing. Really good friendly staff too. Highly recommend.
Every item on the small menu can be either veggie or vegan, with the substitute being super close to the meat version and absolutely delicious. I’ve never had such incredibly delicious broth before, the depth of flavour was incredible. Service and atmosphere also great! Highly recommend.
Service was so quick! And it was absolutely stunning and delicious. I wanted to order some more but I was so stuffed. Definitely going again next month!! Honestly the best ramen in Bristol , and I lived here for three years!
Have been a returning customer since the shop opened, and witnessed the evolution of the dishes. Soup based maintained in excellent executions, and the slow cooked meats and eggs are my all time fav. Realised the noodles has become shorter than it should - I think this is to cope with those not handling chopsticks well? I think those interested in Japanese cuisine should really come and try
