We came here for the magic show and had such a strange and honestly unpleasant experience. After waiting for the magician to finish the first show (which was quite long and drawn out - he spent a long time chatting with the patrons, asking them questions and making lots of effort despite not getting much back), we took our seats and were engaging with the impressive performance. But 10 minutes in, the magician said he was going to stop because we "hadn't bonded as a group" and he felt he "wasn't getting anything back". We assumed this was a joke because my friend and I, and the couple we didn't know but who we happily interacted with, were enjoying the show and politely responding with enthusiasm. He walked off and we sat there shocked and disappointed, genuinely expecting it to all be a bit. He came back and reinforced that the show was over, implying it was our fault for being a bad audience. About 10 minutes later he resumed the show with a new audience that clearly appealed better to him as the show went on longer. We thought this was pretty rude. It was especially disappointing as we're here on holiday and came especially for the show. I'd also spent £12 on a cocktail which I wouldn't have if I knew we were about to be dismissed! It's also pretty annoying that there are no prices or menu so you don't know what you're paying (I expected a higher price but not that much!) or what's in the cocktails. This should have been a super fun afternoon and we left with a bad taste.
Very pleasant cosy pub with friendly communicative staff and people. There is a wide range of cider, local and international beer on tap. The large back room is used for numerous live events from different concerts to comedy. It was a pleasure
Very cosy, warm pub with a decently priced Wiper and True beer on tap. Definitely worth a look 👌
