This place is NOT for foodies. We decided to come here for my wife’s birthday because it had good reviews. When we arrived, they took our drink orders and we ordered a starter. Both the drinks (sodas) and the starters (frozen seafood) came out in less than 15 minutes. We were then completely ignored for 50 minutes, despite there being a total of 9 diners in the restaurant (including our party of 3). It was extremely disappointing because we focus on supporting small businesses around the world. Therefore, I still rate it a 2 because I believe it has potential.
Before heading to a gig at St George’s Bristol, I stumbled across Hat Bistro for a pre-theatre dinner… and what a find. Lovely atmosphere, friendly team, and a really smart touch offering 10% off if you show your theatre ticket from St George’s nearby. Little things like that make places memorable. I went for the sirloin steak and despite the very slight raised eyebrow when I confidently ordered it medium-well… they absolutely nailed it. 😂🥩 Cooked perfectly and full of flavour. Great value overall, relaxed but polished, and exactly the kind of independent place you hope to discover before a show. Glad I found it — and I’ll definitely be back.
Absolutely amazing experience at Hat Bistro! A true hidden gem in Bristol – the food is authentic, fresh, and full of flavour, with everything clearly made with care. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. Loved the Greek wines and the whole experience felt like a little trip to Greece. Highly recommend and will definitely be back! 🇬🇷🍷
Absolute 10/10 place everything about our experience was top notch! From the moment we walked into the door we were welcomed with a very friendly manner, the food was the most incredible tasty favoursome thing I’ve tried. The staff were super friendly the food was delicious..I highly highly recommend this place! All ingredients are sent over from Greece and home grown so super authentic. The love and passion they put into their cooking really does show.
