I had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back! The vibe is fantastically queer, and the staff is absolutely fabulous. Flo was lovely in every possible way, and Jamie was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Thank you so much for the great experience! :)
Really good value for money with this hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean, particularly liked how comfortable the beds are! The decor is a bit dated, and the shower cabin quite small. On the side of the terrace it could be quite loud when the music on the terrace was on, but on the plus side it was good music :)) For those of us who aren't noise sensitive and who sleep well with some ambient noise, that's fine. The location is about 20 min walking from the city centre, pretty close to a bus station though
There's a lot to like about this hotel and I enjoyed staying there. I had chosen it as I was going to be working nearby and needed the option of car parking for the whole time. This was a big bonus as was able to leave my car in a secure, monitored garage for the whole of my stay at a very reasonable charge of £14 per day. Note however, that if you are planning to do this, ask the hotel beforehand exactly where the garage is, as it is rather tucked away. My first impression, walking up to the hotel, was not entirely positive as they are rebuilding the front steps and garden and it is messy. I presume this is to create a ramp for luggage, at least I hope so as hauling quite a heavy case up to the entrance was not easy. But inside the hotel presents a very pleasant and stylish interior. Flo, on reception, had already been very helpful to me in terms of finding the parking garage, and very much continued in the vein. She is a credit to the hotel. My room, 48, was obviously quite recently refreshed with good paintwork, new light switches and, unlike too many hotels, plenty of power sockets. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the fittings were new. The shower was powerful and easy to use. The towels were plentiful and included large ones, again unlike many other hotels. The carpet looked new and all surfaces were completely clean. The bed was enormous and the mattress was of a very good quality and made it easy to get a great sleep. The only thing I would question is whether, in the summer, the room would get very warm. The windows have not been replaced and can only be opened a little way. It was fine but I could imagine it being an issue at another time. Having an onsite restaurant and bar is a big plus and the staff there were also exceptional - warm, friendly and genuine. Again, a credit to the hotel. I had a good dinner there one night and the breakfast was very good value. I am likely to be returning to Bristol later this year and I wouldn't hesitate to come back here
Stayed here several times now when visiting my daughter who's at Bristol uni. Location is perfect for me and the staff always friendly. I do feel the rooms are looking a bit dated now although always very clean. It can be very hot in the rooms as the windows only open a few inches, staff will provide a fan though. Depending on the time of year the price for a room is good.
Great hotel at a reasonable price. Dog friendly all areas. Approx 20-25 mins walk to centre or Clifton Suspension Bridge or there are regular buses. Rooms good enough but bit noisy on the bar side. Comfortable bed and decent shower. Fruit and biscuits in room a nice touch. Hotel bar and dinner good. Breakfast great. Lovely outdoor spaces too. Staff friendliness makes the place 5 star. Put the football on for us. They were all lovely but I saw Flo a fair bit whose welcome was very bubbly, and Owen was great. Didn't get other names, sorry, you're all fab :) Would definately stay again if in Bristol, thanks.
