We stopped here for brunch after exploring the Arcade, and it was the perfect break. The food and coffee were both excellent, and everything arrived surprisingly quickly with no waiting at all. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed and the staff were incredibly warm and friendly, making us feel very welcome. If you're visiting Clifton, this is definitely a place worth stopping by. They have a very extensive menu with plenty of delicious options to choose from. Highly recommended!
Our go-to on the busy cafe street in Clifton! Consistently great food, availability & good coffee too! Everything we have had from here always delivers!
We had such a lovely brunch at Primrose Cafe in Bristol. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavourful, and clearly made with care. The service was excellent too; the staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome from the moment we arrived. We were also pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to get a table, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and unhurried. The ambience is really nice—bright, cosy, and the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely brunch. All in all, a wonderful experience. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Primrose Cafe is one of those places that makes you feel quietly smug for having discovered it, even though everyone else clearly has too. The staff are attentive, friendly, efficient and properly caring (none of that performative cheerfulness, just good oldfashioned competence with a smile). It’s beautifully well run, which is oddly soothing in itself. Think cute, cozy, artisan Like if a handthrown mug, a sourdough loaf and a perfectly chosen playlist all agreed to meet for lunch. The atmosphere hums gently along, making you want to stay longer than planned and order “just one more thing”. The food is topnotch, genuinely high quality, and the menu is gert lush, the sort where everything sounds tempting and you immediately regret not coming hungrier. It’s charming, it’s thoughtful, it’s a bit hipster, and it’s got that very British knack for being excellent without shouting about it 😁
I visited a friend in Bristol recently and she took me to this lovely spot for brunch. I was absolutely impressed by the vibe in Clifton Village—it feels so vibrant yet cosy. The staff at Primrose Cafe were also brilliant—very welcoming and friendly. We managed to snag a table in the corner upstairs. It was a bit quieter than the bustling ground floor, but we could still enjoy some lovely sunshine streaming through the small window. I was honestly spoilt for choice with the menu! I eventually settled on the 'Veggie Monty', which came with a very generous portion. It had everything: poached egg, portobello mushrooms, baked beans, hash browns, veggie sausages, spinach, tomato, and toast. The food was spot on. The sourdough toast with the poached egg was the definite highlight, and the hash browns were perfectly crispy. Both of us really enjoyed the quality brunch. The relaxing atmosphere really adds to the charm of this cafe. I would love to come back and work my way through the rest of the vegetarian dishes!
