We booked a table for drinks and to watch the football match. The bar man was wonderful, had a nice chat and he made us very welcome and even turned up the volume and served us desserts in the 2nd half! Great

Carl the manager is excellent - really welcoming and can’t do enough for you. Izzy and Grace were looking after us and they also were excellent - service with a smile, and again nothing was too much trouble for them. The pub itself is top notch with a good selection of drinks and the food also was very good. The outdoor space is good but has potential to make it better and used more in colder weather, if heaters were installed in the patio area and the old play area was made better use of, for example. Overall I love this pub and we are very lucky to live close by.

Lovely pub and really lovely rooms! In a great location as well, with fab access to the city centre and to both train stations in Bristol. Really enjoyed our stay here and would thoroughly recommend, staff were super friendly and housekeeping were very accommodating to our needs and made the stay extra special. The food is great, such a good range and tasty too!!!

Had Sunday roast lunch which was served quickly but cold. The choice of wine was good but pricey for a large glass. Coffee machine was broken. All in all quite disappointing.

The shower room was lovely. Large mirror, large shower with good water pressure and perfect temperature control. The tea and coffee making station was attractively arranged, useful, appreciated; and the fridge is a game changer. Nice to see an installed air con unit but we didn't need it. The room was an absolutely perfect 18 degrees. I found the number of pillows and cushions especially generous as I like to sleep mostly upright so well done for that! Most hotels I hunt around for extra cushions and improvise. Staff were busy but polite. I cannot fault you guys on anything. If I say I hated the stairs, well, that's Bristol for you. Lots of old buildings with steep staircases, so that's just an expected part of the experience.
