Marmo Restaurant & Wine Bar
Bristol
Recenzje
Marmo has a special place in our hearts as it’s where my partner and I had our first proper date after moving to Bristol, so it was lovely to come back for her birthday. We were immediately welcomed and the service throughout dinner was excellent. Our waiter knew the menu really well, was happy to explain dishes and give recommendations, and was friendly without being overbearing. The food was fantastic. We shared the steak tartare and a carafe of Pecorino, then had the pork and mackerel for our mains. The flavours were really distinct and worked brilliantly together. Even when you see a combination on the menu and think, “oh, that’s interesting”, you can eat it with full confidence that they’ve figured it out. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with great decor, a good atmosphere and a nice buzz from the open kitchen. A few hospitality details stopped it being a five-star experience for us. An alarm went off for a while during dinner without much acknowledgement afterwards. The birthday was also only briefly acknowledged when we arrived. I’m not expecting free dessert or a big fuss, but at this level even a small gesture or more personal acknowledgement would have made the occasion feel more considered. The send-off was similar. Everything was pleasant while settling the bill, but once we’d paid we essentially just left. A simple goodbye at the door would have rounded the evening off nicely. Honestly, a really great meal, and genuinely just some small nitpicks. The cooking in particular is exceptional and we’d happily return.
One of the best restaurants I have been to for a long while. This reminded me of eating in Spain, where food is plentiful, but the ingredients are of high quality. Everything we ate was perfect and cooked perfectly. There is a really nice atmosphere at the place, and the staff are great. The only negative is that I live in London and will mourn not being able to eat here regularly.
Some absolutely gorgeous food. The night we went, we had the hake, the pork and the charred leek. For starters we had the burrata which went really nicely with anchovies and the pickled vegetables. Lovely restaurant and atmosphere for a date night or a get-together.
Nothing short of incredible. This was probably the best meal we have had in Bristol. Every single course and every bite just kept getting better and better. It’s clear the chefs take great care in creating these dishes and are truly passionate about what they serve. Absolutely faultless - we couldn’t give any criticism if we tried! We’d recommend going as a pair and trying as many things as you can. Service was amazing too. Ariana was so lovely!! 10/10 would recommend to everyone.
Absolutely incredible food, every mouthful was perfect across all 4 dishes. Service was fantastic and daily special wine was a real treat. 4 stars purely because this restaurant adds a 12.5% discretionary service charge. No restaurant should do this, but especially this one. The steak tartare was £32, people are going to be willing to spend £35, just add it into the cost. A real shame as the service was excellent as well so worthy of a tip! Just not a discretionary one applied as standard that you have to ask to be removed.
