We walked past this place on countless occasions and talked about coming here on equally countless occasions, and finally made it here tonight. I feel really smug because everything we ordered turned out to be perfect - though the truth is, everything on the menu prolly is! It's like stepping through the closet into food Narnia. Every dish is a feast to the senses, they look impeccable and taste exquisite! The front of house staff are super friendly, from the moment we walked in, we were greeted with such warmth, and so well taken carw off by Sushmita throughout. Chef came to say hello and I told him his food was so good I was almost in tears - an absolute wizard at his craft.
I came back here on the 22nd of July, just before flying out and just after my daughter's graduation. The food was excellent, service impeccable and the ambience, just great. We had the chicken biryani, yellow dal, bindhi masala along with the kerala jhinga (prawn) curry. Everything was so tasty and flavourful. Perfect! I would highly recommend these dishes. On top of that, the manager was so kind to arrange a generous slice of really great choclate cake, with a congratulatory note on the side of the plate, on the house, after learning of my daughter's graduation. Such a kind gesture. My only regret is that I came here for the first time only on the day i was flying back. Will definitely be back on my next trip to Bristol and I'm looking forward to trying out other dishes on the menu.
It was an impromptu family lunch at Nutmeg, and wow — we were genuinely impressed by the food, service, and overall vibe. We’ve ordered from here online a few times before, so we already knew we were in for a delicious meal, but dining in was such a lovely experience too. The staff were warm and attentive, the atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming, and everything we ordered was absolutely spot on. As parents, we also really appreciated the little things — clean toilets, a spacious baby changing facility, and an overall family-friendly setup that made the visit so comfortable. Great food, great service, and a lovely space to enjoy a meal with family. All boxes checked for us — we’ll definitely be back!
I came here with two friends before a show St the Old Vic. They had been before and recommended it. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Large portions too. The cocktails were lovely and good selection of wine. Staff were froendly and very helpful with information. Great position in town. Parking is via nearby NCP parking.
I had a wonderful dining experience at Nutmeg. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was excellent—full of flavour, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. Each dish felt well-balanced and authentic, with a great mix of spices that really stood out without being overwhelming. The atmosphere added to the experience as well. Overall, a fantastic restaurant with great food, friendly staff, and a great ambience. I’d happily recommend it and look forward to visiting again!
