Had a rare day off with my husband without our daughter and we were really looking forward to a posh chippy for lunch! We both ordered haddock and chips but the haddock tasted really fishy unfortunately, so I don’t think it was that fresh, and the portion was really small - though we did notice the takeaway boxes looked like they had bigger portions. It was also just under £50 for our meals and two soft drinks which felt steep based on the experience.
Absolutely cracking fish and chips! The food here was exceptionally fresh and delicious. The fish itself was cooked to absolute perfection—beautifully flaky on the inside with a properly crisp, golden batter on the outside. The portions are massive and incredibly filling, so you definitely won't leave hungry! They offer a brilliant selection of sauces to suit everyone's taste (do note that the extra sauces come with a small additional charge, but they are well worth it to complete the meal). For me, the absolute best part is the location. It’s situated right at Wapping Wharf, meaning you can easily grab your takeaway box, find a spot sitting right by the harbourside, and enjoy a proper British classic while looking out over the water. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bristol!
Visited in peak busy time. Wanted to sit down and dine in there pod with my dog and family in the shade, was told that’s ok and to go in, went and sat down and told they are closing the area to clean so has to get up and leave. Which is such a shame as wanted a meal so had to settle for small takeaway order and eat in the streets instead. Chips were good and curry sauce was good.
Had takeaway small cod and chips on a trip down to Bristol in March. Fish was freshly cooked to order, so there was a bit of a wait, but that's a positive point as far as I'm concerned. The food was gluten free as standard. It was quite expensive (maybe that's because of the area it's in, I don't know) but it was tasty and well cooked.
