Where should I start ? This pub will blow you away. Best pint of jubel that has every graced my lips, served by an enthusiastic, enigmatic barman named James. Bring your friends and family, you won't be disappointed !
Ordered a spicy margarita, and after already paying £12.95, was informed that they had run out of both chillis and jalapeños. So I was overcharged for my drink as the regular margarita was cheaper. The server also did not put a double shot of tequila in and it was one of the worst margaritas I’ve ever had so I would not recommend the cocktails here. Obviously cocktails are not the specialty of a pub, but at this price point you expect a lot more, especially given actual cocktail bars charge less for high quality drinks.
This is my favourite place to visit in Clifton village. Outstanding restaurant, the decor beautifully created. Adam with absolute star service. Made us feel extremely welcome. Excellent recommendations with the food and drink pairing as well.
The food was pretty good but portions were all over the place. The turkey Xmas dinner compared to the pork was 2.5 bigger. The pork of course was delicious. Food took a while to come out and at one point we was forgotten about. It took forever to get drinks and there was an altercation in the pub which slowed everything down even more. I wouldn't pay that price again for the food though
We were so excited to visit Bristol because our oldest granddaughter is named Bristol. So after visiting the Suspension Bridge, the Observatory, and Giant’s Cave, we walked around town and had worked up an appetite. We eventually settled on The Mall for lunch. The Mall pub has a beautiful, comfy interior with lots of wood, a beautiful staircase, wood accents on the walls, and even a decorative ceiling. We were seated at a beautiful booth with an ornately decorated wood wall next to us. For our meal, we both ordered the Slow-cooked Steak & Pale Ale pies, with buttery mash, buttered leeks, savoy cabbage and a red wine sauce. The pies had a delicious, flaky, well-seasoned crust, and were filled with good sized chunks of meat and vegetables in a rich gravy. They were full of flavor, and piping hot. The mashed potatoes were very smooth and flavorful and paired nicely with the pies. The food came out quickly and the service was fast and friendly. If you’re visiting Bristol, we definitely recommend hitting up The Mall for a delicious meal.
