Granted the rooms aren't anything to write home about. But the beds are comfortable and most important to me the rooms are quiet The breakfast and location make up for the rooms decor and faulty TV. Sleep and delicious food are the most important to me in a hotel so it's 5 stars all the way with this hotel. Would happily stay again.
We had a meal for my daughter’s birthday this evening. I ordered a rump steak with peppercorn sauce. I ordered medium and when it arrived it looked well cooked and the chips were like roast potatoes and far too large to class as chips. My steak was rubbery and tough and one of the worst steaks I have ever eaten. My daughters had tapas and all was ok except for the greasy salty loaded fries. My husbands fish and chips had a spoonful of tartare sauce and dried mishy peas and my peppercorn sauce was like melted butter with some peppercorns thrown in. Very expensive for the quality although waitressing staff were attentive and polite bit young so we didn’t want to cause a fuss. Will not being going again
Popped in just for breakfast. I had the veggie minus the Avocado. I have to say it was the best ever veggie breakfast I’ve eaten and I’ve eaten a lot of them all over. Everything cooked to perfection and loved the halloumi too. Can’t recommend enough. 10/10
Nice hotel. 14 rooms. Parking for about 10 cars. Plenty of free parking in quiet residential side streets. Prominent location and easy to find. All clean and well maintained with good sized rooms. We arrived at 11.30pm and self entry was no problem- we were messaged with the entrance door key code (remember to add a *after the code number) and all our room keys etc were left on the reception desk. Easy. Would stay here again.
Shared an afternoon yesterday , for a club get together. I must say the staff were awesome. Most of us felt it was not as good as last year. Most of the plates (21 in total) only had half or one sprout on it. Myself half only plus no swede at all. Having only one coffee machine in the building ment some were leaving before others even had there's. As I say the staff were excellent .I think the chef needs to see a Christmas lunch. Who ever heard of ice cream served on top of Christmas pud. We thought we may have a choice . Maybe brandy cream or even double would be better or even custard.Just a thought.
