The restaurant offers some nice surprises already at the entrance. You will get some popcorn as a starter. The meat was well prepared and seasoned, sides are delightful. As a small adventure, a visit of the bathrooms is mandatory. Ah yes, and before you leave you get some nice Ice cream to go. Lovely it is, as this restaurant was recommended to us by accident from a local.
We've been to Flat Iron Bristol a few times now and the food is always fantastic, but somehow today's meal was even better! We ordered three Flat Iron steaks with the mac & cheese, mash, and fries, and everything was cooked perfectly. The quality is consistently excellent, which is why we keep coming back. A special mention to Louie, who made our visit so enjoyable. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome. His service really stood out and made the whole experience even better. It was also my mum's first time visiting Flat Iron, and she absolutely loved it. She couldn't stop talking about how good the food was. Highly recommend if you're looking for amazing steak and outstanding service. We'll definitely be back!
My first time here yesterday to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and let me put you on ! This place is so cute, it’s AIR CONNED, the service is wonderful, and the food is even better. The atmosphere of the place is warm and welcoming and the staff are so friendly. It’s a fast-paced restaurant but not in a way that they rush you. The food came out quickly and hot. I had the raspberry gin spritz cocktail - very refreshing ! We ordered the wagyu specials (hanger and bavettr) and they were cooked perfectly ! The sides… we got the mash, the mac n cheese, and the fries and wowzer. The mash is incredibly smooth, buttery but with a crunchy topping - wonderful eating experience. The mac n cheese blew me away, it was soooo good. still thinking about it, cheesy, warm, flavourful, saucy ! the fries were a little too salty for me but my bf enjoyed them - they are cooked to perfection tho. Gigi was our waitress and she was so friendly, warm, and attentive. Great aura. To top it off! you get their homemade ice cream to go and it slaps ! love love love. It’s a great place to come for a fast service and good food. the price is extremely good!
We had an email in the morning to confirm our booking. We replied and got the response back by email after arrival. We were seated at a table where the air-conditioning was blasting down on us so we immediately moved. We were given a bottle of citrus water and a cup of pop corn with beef dripping (not suitable for veggies). But not stated by staff. Once seated we waited just under 25mins until our waiter arrived and was asked what we wanted to eat. I asked if he was going to take our drinks order first. He said he could take that too..... So who was supposed to take it? Drinks arrived about 5 mins later and the food almost straight after. The food was warm, not hot. It was quite tasty. We did find it weird how there's no weights stated for the steaks so you don't know what to expect. The bill was correct and we were able to pay by AMEX. Upon leaving we were offered an ice cream which was amazing.
We’re frequent customers of Flat Iron in London, so we were really looking forward to visiting the Bristol branch and expected a similar experience. Unfortunately, the service did not meet expectations. At around £40 per person, we would anticipate attentive and well-paced service, but this wasn’t the case. It was quite difficult to get a waiter’s attention after being seated, and we waited approximately 15 minutes before being able to place our order. That said, when we were finally attended to, the waiter was friendly, professional, and helpful. Once the food arrived, no one checked in to see how everything was or if we needed anything further, which is something I would consider a basic standard in most restaurants. At the end of the meal, we experienced a similar delay when requesting the bill, waiting a further 12–15 minutes. Overall, while the food was enjoyable, the level of service did not reflect the price point. With some improvements in attentiveness and staffing, the experience could better match the standards associated with the Flat Iron name.
