Arnos Vale Cemetery is a hidden gem offering a world of peace and tranquility for all to enjoy. Set in 45 acres of beautiful woodland it contains the graves of, or memorials to, over 300,000 people including those who lost their lives while fighting for their country, notable figures and ordinary locals. Visitors don't only come to look at the graves. The cemetery is a haven for nature and wildlife and is being managed as a Site of Nature Conservation Interest. The grounds are host to a wide variety of plants, trees, insects, birds and animals. There are lots of trails and woodland walks round the cemetery and special events such as bat walks, owl prowls, spring walks and guided tours are organised regularly - please click the website for details.
