DescriptionThis full day tour combines a great introductory tour of Bath with the ultimate experience of the city's main attraction - its natural hot springs, the only hot springs in Britain. From your pick-up point in Bristol you will be driven to Bath with your private guide who was born and grew up in Bath giving you the chance to meet and talk to someone from the area. Your tour starts with a fantastic viewpoint over the city before you continue by foot to see the city's famous landmarks such as the Royal Crescent, Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge. During your tour you will have a guided visit inside the Roman Baths. Built over the city's hot springs, this was one of the greatest religious spas of the ancient world and today these well-preserved remains are one of the finest examples of a Roman Spa complex. Having gained an insight into how the Romans used the hot springs you will have lunch at the famous Pump Rooms. In the 18th Century the Pump Rooms was a fashionable place to drink water from the hot springs and featured in two of Jane Austen's novels. At the end of the walking tour you will be taken to the popular Thermae Bath Spa for a 21st Century experience of Bath's hot springs. Here you can bathe in Britain's only naturally-warmed mineral waters as people have been doing in Bath for over a thousand years. Your 2 hour spa session includes access to the indoor Minerva Pool, the outdoor Rooftop Pool and the Wellness Suite which includes steam rooms, an ice-room, infra-red room and a relaxation room. After your spa session you will be driven back to Bristol.
