Brilliant service from Stef and Ahmed. great crisps 👊 Refreshing pints and honestly a great way to end the evening
Came in here last week for a pint with a group of friends. For context we are mainly 19-20 year old female students. A man came in who was clearly under the influence asking us for money, unfortunately we had to tell him we didn’t carry any cash on us and offered to buy him a pint instead. When he declined he continued to sit extremely close to our table, almost falling asleep. My friends were visibly uncomfortable as they were somewhat trapped by a potentially unpredictable much older man. The barman looked over several times he did nothing to help despite us being visibly distressed. After a while we went over and informed him of the situation, hoping for his help but instead he said that he couldn’t serve the man and disappeared out the back. Eventually two of my friends took it upon themselves to take the man outside and offer to buy him something from the shop, once again receiving no help from the bartender. I think it’s appalling for a business to show such a disregard for the safety of its customers, partially in an area with such a high concentration of young students. When we confronted the barman as to why it was up to two young girls to resolve the situation that occurred, he simply shrugged and said obviously he would’ve intervened if the situation had escalated or there was a threat of physical violence. I would seriously consider retraining your staff on how to ensure the welfare of their customers.
