Absolutely perfect little "proper pub". Sadly it decided to close at 9.30pm on a Thursday night after me and my friends had got a bus into town to meet up for some beers. Won't risk going back, sorry.
I played with our flamenco band, Encuentro Flamencor in the Eldon house 2 weeks ago and we had the best time ever. Jimmy and his team made sure we had everything we needed, provided extension cords for the music and they were there with a smile to help with everything they could. The service the provided was excellent and they kept going the extra mile to engage with customers. I was so impressed with the friendly and professional enviroment that I wanted to make a review about it. Thank you so much the Eldon House for making us feel, home. You must be very proud of the service you provide to the community. Thank you!
We celebrated my wife's big birthday here and booked the back room. We were about 50 people at one point. The staff was extremely helpful and the spread we booked was excellent, good value for money, I thought. Very good beer selection. We could stay until midnight, which was just right for us old fogeys! All in all it was a successful and enjoyable evening. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place. And, there is no fee for booking the back room!
I had my baby shower here recently and had the best time. There were around 35 guests and everyone mentioned how nice the venue was. I organised the day with Stephen via email a few months in advance, he was super helpful and organised. His staff are brilliant, really attentive and nice on the day. Jasper on the bar let my friend in a little before opening so she could put up some decorations. We had our own music, a buffet was provided by the pub which was perfect and reasonably priced plus I bought a crate of Prosecco through them for my guests, after that people ordered at the bar which worked really well, the bar area was still open to the public but separated by an archway so you feel like you’ve got a private space. Highly recommend for private hires — 10/10!!
I had my 30th birthday here and found communication with Leo and Stephen really clear and easy in the lead-up. The price was extremely reasonable and on the night it was an absolutely fabulous time, with Leo and Jasper being super friendly and relaxed on the bar. The whole experience was virtually stress free and I would definitely use this venue again and recommend it to others.
