It's an awesome pub with most of the staff being really friendly. It has a small stage to allow bands to play and most of the time there's live music lifting the atmosphere. Occasionally some of the bands that make an appearance are on the next level with the quality of their music and the influence of their performance. Waldo's Gift is the perfect example of a Gallimaufry band that ought to be alot higher on the road to stardom than they are. Unfortunately all of the positives of being at the Gallimaufry, namely the good drinks selection, welcoming staff, buzzing yet friendly atmosphere, live music and pleasant heated outdoor/smoking area, are all let down by an extremely rude barmaid. I can handle the odd member of staff that is a bit grumpy and not the nicest person to deal with, however I've now managed to catch out this individual a couple of times with them being extremely nasty and very rude to the extent that they really ought not be working there. On both occasions whilst ordering my drinks I've been chatting with passing comments about the day and I've thrown in a bit of light-hearted humour to both this individual and their colleague also behind the bar. On both occasions I caught this disgruntled employee right when they didn't realise I could see them as they were belittling me and pulling strange faces. The barmaid in question is short in height, with long dark hair and what could best be described as a pug face. I currently am experiencing considerable issues in my life and don't need to face this disrespect in such a situation so I have decided to drink down the road. It's a shame that this rude, immature and cruel individual has in my experience ruined a brilliant pub. I hope you never get served by her!
Tucked into The Gallimafury, Fat Dad’s Kitchen is all about proper smash burgers — messy, smoky, and full of flavour without going over the top. We both went for The Schmokie — two dry-aged beef smash patties stacked with smoked streaky bacon, double applewood smoked cheese, crispy onions, dill pickles, and smoked bacon & chilli mayo The Parmesan tater tots with black garlic mayo deserve their own spotlight too. Why have I never had black garlic mayo before
