Our first time visiting after reading such positive reviews and it did not disappoint. The four of us had all three courses and each was splendid, even more so when including the value of First Table Our first time visiting after reading such positive reviews and it did not disappoint. Was looking forward to eating here but unfortunately left quite disappointed. The food in general was fine, not noteworthy but good enough. Service was a litany of errors. Staff were really polite but not efficient and simple requests took multiple attempts and much longer than they should. Starters were forgotten. One main came not as requested and with an additional ingredient not mentioned on menu (LOTS of mayonnaise all over it which we dislike). We ordered a side of root veg for £6 and how anyone sent it out without feeling ashamed I do not know. We were offered 25% off starters for the error and this wasnt put onto the bill so we had to request it. Restaurant was half empty so not a busy night. Hotel has obviously had a huge amount spent on it so its very disappointing the Restaurant didnt match up.
