We had a lovely family dinner at One Fish Street! The food overall was really good, with the oysters being a massive standout—the grilled and tempura oysters in particular were delicious and something I had never tried before. The waitresses were really sweet, polite, and wonderfully accommodating with our young child, happily bringing out their fish and chips with no sauce when we asked. There were just a couple of minor things that kept it from being a completely flawless evening. The anchovies were served on their own without any bread, which felt a bit strange given how rich they are, and would definitely benefit from something to balance them out. Additionally, for a restaurant of this standard, the plate clearing fell a bit short; our plate piled high with empty oyster shells sat on the table for quite a while, and we had to ask twice to have it replaced. That said, the high food quality, unique dishes, and lovely atmosphere still make it well worth a visit, and we would definitely return for those oysters!
One Fish Street doing the absolute most 🐟✨ Started with focaccia, salted butter and crab custard - and honestly, that crab butter situation needs to become a permanent fixture in my life ASAP. Then came fish & chips small plates x2, cuttlefish ragu arancini x2, and a platter of 12 oysters that were ridiculously fresh. Raw oysters were top tier, closely followed by the cooked ones, but really every version was delivering. Finished with mousse + miso ice cream, plus sparkling elderflower and a cardamom + sea salt limeade to keep things feeling very polished. So yeah: fresh seafood, incredible service, and I’m still thinking about that crab butter.
Such a great meal ! Waitresses and chefs gave a very personal experience ! Highly recommend… and I will be back as couldn’t eat everything on the menu … choice was so good !
We came here for our Valentine’s date dinner and had a lovely evening. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. It’s a bit of a shame that they don’t offer a set or course menu, as the portions are quite small and didn’t fill us up much, so we ended up ordering quite a few more dishes. It would also be nice if the staff had a bit more eye contact and attentiveness during service. Overall though, it’s a good restaurant and we enjoyed the experience.
The food was genuinely perfect. The hake was so tender and the sauces thay came with it - incredibly flavourful. The oysters were gorgeous - fresh, meaty, perfectly seasoned, beautifully presented. I strongly recommend the marmite butter and bread to help you bulk out the food as it is small plates. The crab starter was very small and it felt like it should have come with crackers or something to dip into it, but was nevertheless delicious yet again. The aesthetics and attention to detail in the restaurant were just my style, so I really appreciated it, I just wish the music was a bit louder so we could have a conversation more comfortably without feeling like we were being too loud. The staff was polite and helpful. The cocktails were fantastic too, strong and presented beautifully. I did expect there to be more fish options available, and I was surprised to see the price of the tins on the menu on the website was £4-5 cheaper than the costs listed on the menu we looked at inside. But I genuinely want to come back for the lunch deal as well as the oyster pack for £38 (12 oysters, 2 of each flavour). Also a note to say the water was not free.
