Local tip
It's easy to miss the arcade if you're not familiar with the area. Look for Primrose Cafe on Boyces Avenue- the entrance is right next door.

No visit to Clifton is complete without a visit to this impressive, restored Victorian Arcade. Packed with quirky and interesting little shops it's a wonderful place for browsing. Step inside this fascinating shopping arcade, originally opened 1878, and imagine yourself transported back to Victorian times. Browse around the shops selling unusual goods ranging from bespoke furniture to antiques, and traditional sweets to art and vintage clothing. It's worth a look even if you are not interested in shopping. As you leave, step through the archway to the side of the entrance of the arcade and take a look at the beautiful Georgian houses in Victoria Square. There's a quiet park with benches in the Square, ideal for a picnic (you can buy the ingredients from one of Clifton's delis). Clifton Arcade is only a 10 minute walk from Clifton Suspension Bridge, it's easy to fit it in on your sightseeing trip.
