Churches in City Centre
Given the history of Bristol it is not surprising that there are several famous churches and a cathedral which are well worth visiting.
One of the most popular churches to visit in the city is Bristol Cathedral with its stunning architecture and a spectacular interior. Another famous church is the medieval St Mary Redcliffe with it's tall spire, a well-known city landmark. This impressive church was highly praised by Queen Elizabeth I, who called it the ''fairest, goodliest and most famous parish church in England''.
