Description
Join a tour of an organically managed farm near Bristol. Meet the makers, sample the goods and get involved with whatever’s happening at the farm that day. Be greeted by Matt or Sean, the owners and founders of Wild West Wine and Cider. Their passion for natural, small-batch production is at the heart of everything they do. Take a stroll to the organic vineyard. Learn about the ups and downs of growing grapes without chemicals and what it takes to manage a vineyard through the seasons. Sample a glass of Wild West natural wine while you’re there - the very first vintage to be grown and bottled at Failand Farm. On your way to the winery and cider house, wander through the orchards and hear about the annual cycle of apple growing - from winter pruning to harvest time. Back at the cidery and winery, see where the magic happens. Depending on the time of year, you might try your hand at testing sugar levels, pressing, racking, bottling, disgorging or labelling. Finally, sit back and enjoy a tasting of handcrafted ciders paired with local cheese. Be guided through the flavour profiles - dryness, sweetness, tannin, acidity and hear the story behind each bottle.Includes
