Byzantium Bar and Restaurant

Bristol

Visit at the weekend for a lively atmosphere and during the week if you want a quiet meal.

Byzantium offers a choice of classic cocktails in exotic surroundings. Often there is entertainment in the form of a belly dancer or a flamenco guitarist. You could be forgiven for thinking you have stepped into a high class Oriental establishment when you walk into this great bar and restaurant. Occupying the bottom two floors of a former nineteenth century brick warehouse, the space has been completely transformed. The large bar area with low tables and seats, subdued lighting, supplemented by flickering candles, and marble floors is the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail. Sit back and watch the belly dancers or other entertainment - please click on the website for details of entertainment and times.

An impressive marble staircase takes you up to the dining area that has great views of St Mary Redcliffe Church. The a la carte menu offers food with Mediterranean flavours. The house speciality is a selection of mini starters or deserts brought to you on a two tier lantern, the perfect way to try a taste of everything.
